World Tree Resource Farming in Palworld 1.0

The World Tree is where Palworld 1.0's endgame progression lives. Every meaningful upgrade past Level 65 — Awakening, Paloxite weapons, Ancient Series armor, top-tier building materials — pulls from resources you can only get inside this biome.

This guide covers the two things you need to know before you spend any time farming: the node-shatter mechanic (which will otherwise waste your entire trip) and where each resource actually spawns.

The critical mechanic — every node shatters on approach

Here's the trap most players fall into on their first visit: World Tree nodes vanish the instant you get close to them unless you're prepared. Paloxite ore, Mythical Wood, Pal Metal Ore — all of them share this rule. Walk up to a node without setup and it evaporates before you can swing a pick.

There are two ways to solve this:

Solution 1 — Rainbow passive (the smart play)

Rainbow is a Legendary passive skill unique to certain Pals. Its effect line reads: "World Tree resources will not vanish when approached." Keep any Pal with Rainbow in your active party (doesn't need to be deployed) and every node in the biome behaves normally.

Two ways to get a Rainbow-passive Pal:

  1. Wild catch — some Pals inside the World Tree spawn with Rainbow already rolled. Fly around catching random spawns and check each capture's passive list.
  2. Ominous Eggs — a new egg type exclusive to the World Tree. Hatching one gives a decent chance of a Rainbow passive Pal. Multiple Ominous Egg spawns are scattered through the biome — pick them up on any trip in.

This is the recommended path because once you have a Rainbow Pal, you never think about the mechanic again.

Solution 2 — World Tree Holy Water (the wasteful backup)

Drinking World Tree Holy Water gives you a 1-minute buff that keeps Paloxite and Mythical Wood from shattering. Sounds fine — except World Tree Holy Water is also a required ingredient for crafting Paloxite Ingots and Awakening Crystals. Every bottle you drink is a bottle you can't use for gear or Awakening.

Use this only if you haven't found a Rainbow Pal yet and need to farm right now. Don't make it your permanent workflow.

The Awakening system — what you're farming for

Awakening is 1.0's new endgame Pal progression: applied to a Level 80 Pal, an Awakening Crystal significantly bumps its stats. This is the difference between "your Legendary is strong" and "your Legendary melts a 420,000 HP boss in 90 seconds" (see the Necromus Army build).

Awakening Crystal recipe

At the Ancient Workbench:

  • 50 Radiant Gems (matching your Pal's element)
  • 10 World Tree Holy Water
  • Produces: 1 Awakening Crystal of that element

That's per Awakening. To Awaken a full squad of 5, budget for 250+ Radiant Gems of your target element and 50+ Holy Water minimum. This is a real grind — plan a full evening for it.

Radiant Gems — locations by element

Radiant Gems drop from defeated Pals inside the World Tree region. The element of the gem matches the element of the Pal that drops it. Both catching and defeating count for the drop roll.

Verified farming spots:

ElementLocationCoordinatesFarm targets
WaterMain World Tree biome(-1826, 1583)Beakon Cryst, Rayhound Cryst
IceMain World Tree biome(-1826, 1583)Univolt Cryst, Elphidran Cryst, Bastigor
DragonCorroded Hollow(-1650, 1578)Eidrolon Ignis
ElectricDusty Ravine(-1561, 1512)Snock Lux, Orserk

Ground, Fire, Grass, Dark, and Neutral gems exist too — expect them to drop from Pals of the corresponding element scattered through the biome. Community mapping is still catching up on exact spots, but the pattern holds: match element to Pal, farm the Cryst variants for higher drop rates.

How many gems per Pal Awakening

  • Small stat boost: 1 Crystal = 50 gems
  • Full Awakening for a Legendary combat Pal: 3-5 Crystals over multiple upgrade tiers = 150-250 gems

For a 5-Necromus army, budget 250-500 Dark-element Radiant Gems. Combined with the World Tree Holy Water grind, this is a meaningful time investment.

Paloxite, Mythical Wood, and Pal Metal Ore

These are the raw materials for the top-tier weapons and armor.

What each is used for:

  • Paloxite Ore → refined into Paloxite Ingots (needs Holy Water) → Paloxite energy weapons (Drone Launcher, Plasma Rifle, Beam Launcher)
  • Mythical Wood → high-tier building components, high-end furniture, some late-game recipes
  • Pal Metal Ore → refined into ingots for Ancient Series armor and endgame gear

All three are subject to the shatter mechanic. All three require the Rainbow passive or Holy Water workaround.

The tools and Pals that matter

  • Plasma Multicutter — cuts nodes several times faster than a standard pickaxe. Worth crafting before your first serious farm run because a 1-minute Holy Water buff evaporates while you swing an old pick.
  • Dandy Lord — bring one in your party. Its effect grants poison immunity, which nullifies the toxic gas found in parts of the World Tree biome. Without it you'll be drinking healing potions on top of Holy Water.
  • A high work-speed mining Pal — deploy at your base workbench to speed up ingot refinement once you've hauled ore back.

The efficient farming route

Rather than farming resources one at a time, aim for combined runs. Every trip into the World Tree should hit:

  1. Ominous Eggs — pick up any you see, hatch for more Rainbow Pals
  2. Element-specific Cryst zones — plan your route around the element you need Awakening gems for that day
  3. Paloxite/Mythical Wood nodes on the way between farming spots
  4. A stop at the Gas-Mask-required radiation zone if you need higher-tier drops

Rough per-trip yield with a Rainbow Pal + Plasma Multicutter + Dandy Lord party:

  • 60-120 Radiant Gems of your target element (2-4 Cryst kills per Pal spawn cycle)
  • 10-20 Paloxite Ore from nodes along the route
  • 5-15 Mythical Wood and 10-25 Pal Metal Ore as passive collection

At that rate, a full Necromus army Awakening takes roughly 4-6 dedicated farming trips.

Pre-trip checklist

Before your first serious farm run, confirm:

  • Rainbow passive Pal in your party (or 5+ World Tree Holy Water bottles)
  • Gas Mask helmet crafted (radiation zones drain HP without it)
  • Plasma Multicutter in your loadout
  • Dandy Lord in your party (or another poison-immune Pal)
  • Full inventory space — leave at least 30 slots free for hauling
  • Player Level 78-80 — enemies in the biome are Level 75+
