Why an event is almost certain

In October 2025, Pocketpair shipped v0.6.8 — a dedicated Halloween patch that launched on October 23, 2025. Content included (Bisecthosting, Godlike, Palworld's official X):

  • A new "Halloween Mission" — completing it unlocked Zoe's Halloween costume (witch outfit with a cat hat) and a Depresso armor set for the player
  • "Zoe's Sphere" mission — a repeatable mission granting Zoe & Grizzbolt captures. Useful for players who wanted multiple Grizzbolts for team compositions
  • Quality-of-life fixes — chat notifications for players joining/leaving servers, and removed spurious "world settings" warnings on PS5/Xbox

The event ran roughly two weeks, into early November. Pocketpair has done seasonal events at every major holiday since Early Access launch, and 1.0 is by far their biggest post-launch content window ever. A 2026 Halloween event is not confirmed but the pattern is unambiguous.

What a 1.0-era Halloween event likely includes

Given the shape of v0.6.8 and how much 1.0 expanded the game, the likely 2026 event structure:

1. Timed Halloween Mission (repeat pattern from 2025). Almost certainly a limited-time quest chain unlocking player cosmetics. New character skins are Pocketpair's cheapest, most-loved event content — no reason to break the pattern. Expect at least one new player costume and possibly an armor recolor or full new set.

2. Halloween-themed Pal skins. The 2025 event gave Zoe (a NPC) a Halloween costume but didn't add Pal-specific Halloween skins beyond Depresso's existing spooky vibe. 1.0's biggest feature is cosmetics-adjacent content (new Pals, redesigns, more visual customization). A Halloween Pal skin pack for Pals like Killamari, Depresso, Cryolinx, or one of the new 1.0 additions would fit — but is not confirmed.

3. A new Pal or reskin tied to the season. Palworld's 1.0 Paldeck has ~180+ Pals; a seasonal reskin of an existing one (a "Spectral" or "Pumpkin" variant) is more likely than a whole new Pal. If Pocketpair does add a new one, expect it to be a ghost/spectral archetype — a gap in the current Paldeck's typing distribution.

4. Halloween decoration items for base building. The Home Sweet Home update (v0.7.0) massively expanded building. Adding jack-o'-lanterns, spider webs, tombstones, candles, and other seasonal decor would slot naturally into that system and is a common seasonal live-game pattern. 5. Bonus resource events or drop-rate buffs. Some live games use holidays to buff drop rates for specific items — pumpkins during Halloween, honey during summer, etc. Palworld has never done this before, but 1.0's greater emphasis on farming (Palfarm spinoff hints at more agriculture focus) could see a small Pumpkin drop-rate event.

Expected launch window

Based on last year, expect the patch to land in the third or fourth week of October 2026 (Pocketpair shipped v0.6.8 on Oct 23). We'll update this page within hours of the patch dropping.

  1. Level a Zoe & Grizzbolt — if the 2025 pattern repeats, the Zoe's Sphere mission will need a fresh completion. Farming her requires no advance prep, but understanding the mechanic ahead of time saves an hour of confusion.
