Privacy Policy & Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: July 11, 2026

Palworld Companion (palworldcompanion.com) is a community-built fan site for Palworld players. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who we are

Palworld Companion is a personal, community-built fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pocketpair, Inc. The site is provided free of charge, ad-free, and supported by clearly-disclosed affiliate relationships (see the Affiliate Disclosure section at the bottom).

For any questions about this policy, please contact us.

2. What we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to keep the site working and improving.

2a. Analytics (page views and general behavior)

When you visit a page, our analytics providers automatically collect:

  • The URL you visited and the page you came from (referrer)
  • General device information: browser, operating system, screen size, country (derived from IP — never the IP itself)
  • How long you were on the site and which pages you visited during your session

We do not collect your name, email, precise location, or any personally identifying information through analytics.

2b. Local data on your device

The site stores small amounts of data in your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences — for example, which Pals you have added to My Pal Box, or which categories are collapsed in the sidebar. This data never leaves your device.

2c. Affiliate tracking cookies

When you click certain outbound links (typically to game-server hosting providers), those providers set their own tracking cookies on their site so they can pay us a small commission if you sign up. We never see your account details or purchase information — the providers only tell us that a purchase happened, not who made it.

See section 8 for which providers this applies to and how to opt out.

3. Who we share data with

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics 4 — page-view and session data. Google's data practices: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Vercel Web Analytics — page-view counts, top pages, and referrers. Vercel's privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Vercel (our hosting provider) — serves the site's HTML, CSS, JS, and images. Standard server logs may be retained by Vercel for operational purposes.

When you click an outbound affiliate link, tracking cookies may be set by:

  • FirstPromoter / Supercraft for Supercraft hosting referrals
  • Shockbyte (their built-in affiliate system) for Shockbyte referrals
  • Everflow / Nitrado for Nitrado referrals
  • G-Portal / Ociris GmbH for GPORTAL referrals (once configured)
  • Apex Hosting for Apex referrals (once configured)

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy on their respective sites.

4. What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell your data. To anyone.
  • We do not run advertising or ad networks.
  • We do not maintain user accounts or store passwords.
  • We do not send marketing emails.
  • We do not fingerprint your device or use tracking pixels beyond what's disclosed above.

5. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), or California (CCPA), you have rights to:

  • Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of that data
  • Opt out of analytics tracking
  • Object to specific processing activities

To exercise any of these rights, email us and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days).

Opting out of analytics

  • Google Analytics: install Google's official opt-out browser add-on, or use any tracker-blocking extension (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Brave's built-in shields, etc.).
  • Vercel Analytics: blocked by most privacy-focused browsers and ad blockers out of the box.
  • Affiliate cookies: cleared by clearing your browser cookies or using a private/incognito window.

6. Data retention

  • Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for 14 months by default, then aggregated. Vercel Analytics retains raw event data for 30 days.
  • Affiliate cookies are set with their own expiration by the respective provider (typically 30–90 days) — see each provider's documentation.
  • Local browser data (localStorage) persists until you clear it yourself.

7. Children

Palworld Companion is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Affiliate Disclosure

This site contains affiliate links — external links to game-server hosting providers and (potentially) other Palworld-related products. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Specifically:

  • The server hosting comparison page contains affiliate links to Supercraft, Shockbyte, Nitrado, and (in the future) GPORTAL and Apex Hosting.
  • The dedicated server setup guide contains an affiliate link to Supercraft.
  • Any link on the site with rel="sponsored" is an affiliate link. You can inspect any link's rel attribute in your browser's dev tools to verify.

Our editorial commitment:

  • The comparison page is not ranked by affiliate payout. We recommend hosts where they genuinely win — Shockbyte for cheap per-slot pricing, Nitrado for datacenter coverage, GPORTAL for short-term rentals, etc. Not by who pays us the most.
  • BisectHosting is mentioned on the comparison page without an affiliate link because their program pays in store credit rather than cash, which we didn't think was aligned with your interests as a reader.
  • We only recommend hosts we'd be willing to use ourselves, based on published Trustpilot scores, community reputation, and verified specs.

If you believe any recommendation on the site is unfair or biased, please contact us — we take editorial integrity seriously and will investigate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the Effective date at the top of the page and adjust the last-updated date. Substantive changes will be noted in the patch notes hub so returning readers can see what changed and when.
