v0.6.0 — Tides of Terraria
Released June 25, 2025. The Palworld × Terraria collab is the largest single content update since the base game shipped. New mechanics, three new regions, and the level cap jumps again.
What's new
- 27 new Pals, most with water-themed or hybrid typings. Designed for life near rivers, coasts, and underwater zones.
- Three new islands — Tropical, Iceberg, and Shipwreck. Each with distinct resource profiles.
- Fishing system — a proper fishing minigame with rod tiers and species variety.
- Salvaging — break down items at the Pal Surgery Table for crafting materials.
- Eye of Cthulhu is capturable. Moon Lord is a raid boss.
- Level cap 60 → 65 — five more levels of progression.
- New buildings: Pal Surgery Table, Large Incubator, Fishing Pond.
- PS5-only servers introduced for cross-platform parity work.
Meta shift
Water Pals are suddenly competitive
The pre-Terraria meta treated water Pals as a niche pick — useful for watering bases but rarely top-of-team in combat. The new aquatic Pals add ranged-attack and dual-typing options that outclass several pre-existing picks. Re-run the Tier List after capturing the new entries; expect the Best Ranged Combat section to shift.
The Moon Lord raid raises the ceiling
The previous endgame ladder topped out at Bellanoir Libero Ultra (see the guide). Moon Lord is the new pinnacle. He's a multi-phase fight with totally distinct mechanics, so existing Bellanoir comps don't transfer cleanly.
Eye of Cthulhu as a partner Pal
Capturing the Eye of Cthulhu nets you a flying, dark-element companion with movement-skill utility. He's not a raid-tier DPS pick, but his partner skill is among the best for mob clearing. Worth slotting in for daily play.
Fishing eats time, returns trickle in
Don't expect fishing to replace your main grinding loops. Rare catches gate some new crafting recipes, but the loop is slow. Use it as background activity while AFK at your main base.
Recommended adaptation
- Push to Lv 65 before you fight Moon Lord. Anything below 63 dies to his beam attacks.
- Re-derive the tier list if you've been using the data-driven one — the new Pal stats need to be in your dataset.
- Build a coastal base to leverage the new water Pals' work suitabilities (fishing pond, watering, plus combat coverage).
- Save Ancient Civ Parts — Moon Lord drops are the new endgame craft frontier.
